Welcome to the September edition of This and That: a collection of things I find interesting, playful, and important.
Creating this monthly collection is part of my off-the-yoga-mat practice of cultivating an ability to pay attention to the world around me, strengthening my curiousity muscle, and remembering that we’re all part of something bigger than ourselves.
I hope this list brings some cheer to your day!

I’ve started listening to Meditative Story and I quite like it! I think this would be a great podcast for you if you want to meditate but don’t know where to start. You’ll hear beautifully written first-person stories with tiny mindfulness pauses included throughout.
Here’s a story featuring a dog relaxing in a pink flamingo floatie.
I’ve enjoyed WindowSwap throughout the pandemic and it just keeps getting more interesting!
Neurons. You have 86 million! But what are neurons, really? Here’s a short overview.
Here’s what I’m listening to this month.
If you’re in Canada, don’t forget to vote on September 20! Your voice matters.
Stunning photos of birds. Which is your favourite?
Want some nature sounds while you’re working at your computer? Enter: Preservation Play. Bonus: all add revenue goes to conservation efforts.
